RKM initiative benefit hundreds

SHILLONG: At least 400 people of 4 villages from different parts of Meghalaya were benefited by various projects initiated by Ramakrishna Mission, Shillong during 2012-2013 to serve the poorest of some interior village under Central Govt. sponsored Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa (Integrated Child Development programme) and Vivekananda Swasthya Parisheva Prakalpa (Health Services Project for Mothers and Children) taken on the occasion of 150th Anniversary Celebration.
Moreover, Ramakrishna Mission has included 13 Schools from Shillong for imparting Value Education benefitting almost 3000 students under Sustained Graded Value Education Programme.
Other than this several people were benefited through their Charitable Dispensary, Mobile Medical Unit and Computer Training Centre etc.
As whole the Ramakrishna Mission undertook several Relief and Rehabilitation Programmes and Welfare Works in different parts of the country during the year involving an expenditure of Rs.13.81 crore, benefitting more than 1 lakh families.
Medical service was rendered to more than 80.20 lakh people through its 15 Hospitals, 125 Dispensaries, 60 Mobile Medical Unit and 953 Medical Camps with an expenditure of Rs.146.37 crore.
Mission spent a sum of Rs.251.88 crore on its educational works involving 3.29 lakh students.  It also spent a sum of Rs.41.26 crore for Rural and Tribal Development Projects benefitting 42.67 lakh people.
