Shillong, Aug 24: In a thrilling first round of the Indian Racing Festival, Meghalaya’s 17-year-old driver Jaden Rahaman Pariat secured a remarkable victory in the Formula 4 Indian Championship race.
The young talent from Shillong showcased exceptional skills, outmaneuvering his competitors to claim the top spot.
Meanwhile, seasoned driver Jon Lancaster from England clinched the Indian Racing League (IRL) race-1 for A Drivers. The 39-year-old English driver displayed strategic prowess and maintained his lead throughout the race, securing a well-deserved win for the Chennai Turbo Riders team.
Bangalore’s Ruhaan Alva, representing the Shrachi Royal Bengal Tigers, had a mixed day, securing podium finishes in both the IRL and Formula 4 races. However, a minor off-track excursion during the IRL race-1 cost him a potential higher finish.
The Hyderabad Blackbirds team faced a disappointing day, with both Hugh Barter and Neel Jani retiring from their respective races, despite being in contention for victory. Pariat capitalized on their misfortune to secure his Formula 4 win.
The Indian Racing Festival, which will span five rounds, promises to be an exciting spectacle for motorsport enthusiasts. The next round will feature a historic night street race in the heart of Chennai.
