SHILLONG, Sep 2: Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh told The Shillong Times that they had a virtual internal meeting on Monday to discuss the letter the private hospitals had sent to the chief minister.
Lyngdoh, who is currently in Japan, said the issue has to be resolved with the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
According to her, MHIS State Level Executive Officer, Ram Kumar will be travelling to Delhi to resolve the issue on his return from Japan.
“I would need to meet the CM to discuss the matter. We will try to sort it out at the earliest,” the minister assured.
She said that the problem concerning pending dues of the MHIS is an annual phenomenon.
“The problem is connected with online signatories. This has to be resolved with the Ministry,” Lyngdoh said.
The Meghalaya government had implemented MHIS in convergence with the erstwhile Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana which has now been subsumed by the Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY).
