Ex-sports administrator passes away

NS TariangSHILLONG: The Shillong Sports Association (SSA) former honorary general secretary NS Tariang, fondly known as ‘Bah Tone’ passed away on Thursday at the age of 79.
The late Tariang was the SSA general secretary from 1983 to 2007.
From 2007 to 2009, he was the SSA vice president and also chairman of the Tournament Committee.
The SSA General Council held a special meeting on Thursday evening to pay their last homage to their honorary general secretary.
The members of the SSA General Council also observed a two-minute silence in his memory.
Tariang during his hay day was known to be an outstanding hockey player and athlete.
