New Delhi: The State Government is yet to act on the Centre’s plea seeking its nod to extend the ban on militant outfit ULFA by two more years.

A Tribunal headed by Delhi High Court judge Mukta Gupta on Monday issued notices to Meghalaya and Nagaland governments seeking their opinion on extension of the ban on ULFA.

The chief secretaries of both the states have been asked to file their affidavits in the court before February 14.

It may be mentioned that the Union Home Ministry had decided to re-impose the ban on the ULFA as an unlawful organisation on the ground that “the outfit is yet to abjure violence”. (PTI)
