SHILLONG: A day after Tura police filed an FIR and registered a criminal case under the Arms Act against the ANVC-B militants for the Edenbari attack, the outfit on Thursday filed a counter FIR against the police.

In an FIR lodged at Chandmari Beat House, ANVC-B chairman Rimpu Marak accused West Garo Hills Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kr Singh and the owner of the black gypsy (ML 05G 7209) for trespassing, threatening and destroying his ‘farm house’, besides disrupting the peaceful gathering of young people and attempting to murder the residents of the farm in cold blood using automatic weapons.

He also alleged that the SP and his team destroyed the sheds and plants and took away the music player, TV, laptop, guitar, keyboard and other sports materials from the farm house which was meant for entertainment and not for any harm.

“They came inside the farm house without my knowledge and fired many rounds in the air to scare the young people that could have hurt and killed many if they had stayed on in the farm,” Rimpu said while adding that it ) was a deliberate attempt of the police to kill Garo youths.

The Tura police had on Wednesday filed an FIR against the ANVC-B militants who attacked policemen from Chandmari Beat House when they had gone to investigate a missing persons report leading to bullet injury on two security personnel.

Police have named Doang D Shira and Rimpu N Marak in the FIR.
