Youth leadership stressed upon

SHILLONG: Deputy Chief Minister RC Laloo has rued that at times, youths are misguided which results in them destroying their own lives.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the five-day North East National Services Scheme Festival held in the city here on Friday, Laloo stressed on the importance of youth leadership saying that development of leadership qualities in youths is of utmost importance as they are the future of the society.

Earlier, Principal Secretary of Education Department PK Srivasthava underlined the objectives of the NSS which is to serve the society and the environment. He also urged the youth not to be clouded by caste, greed, religion and others but to try and find out the actual purpose of life. “You should know yourself, what you are capable of doing and pursue it,” he said.

It may be mentioned that the five days festival was attended by different NSS units drawn from across the seven NE states including Sikkim, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and M
