TURA, Oct 8: Mendipathar MLA Marthon J Sangma inaugurated a new Ayushman Bharat Health & Wellness Centre (sub-centre) at Godapara, Dainadubi, on Tuesday, marking a significant boost in the healthcare infrastructure of North Garo Hills.
The centre will provide essential services, including OPD, antenatal care and screening for non-communicable diseases.
During the inaugural programme, Sangma emphasised that the centre aims to bring healthcare services closer to the community, particularly benefiting residents of the Godapara area, by reducing the need to travel to the main Primary Health Centre in Dainadubi.
On the other hand, North Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, AK Singh, commended the Health department for this initiative and urged locals to make full use of the centre’s services.
Singh also highlighted the importance of proper handwashing techniques in preventing communicable diseases.
Others who were part of the programme include  medical professionals, who expressed their support for the centre’s role in enhancing healthcare access in the district.
