SHILLONG: The A’chik Mothers Association (AMA), a pressure group, has alleged that police had taken 15 youths who went to the encounter site at Darengagal near Chunmati Dobasipara in Tura on Saturday night.
Four ANVC-B cadres were killed during the encounter.
In a statement issued to the media on Sunday, AMA general secretary Babyana Sangma urged the police to release the youths. “We strongly condemn the encounter against the militant outift at Darengagal near Chunmati Dobasipara in Tura as the concerned citizens and we also appeal the Government and the police to release 15 local youths, who had gone to the spot where the encounter took place”, Sangma said.
Condemning Saturday’s bomb blast near Hawakhana petrol pump, the Mothers’ group also asked the Government to initiate dialogue with various militant groups
