SHILLONG, Oct 13: The curtains have drawn on the vibrant Shillong Book Fair 2024, the second edition of the much-anticipated annual event, which brought together readers, educators, students, and literary enthusiasts from across Meghalaya.
Among the many highlights this year was the Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya team’s presence where the digital library initiative garnered an enthusiastic response from students, teachers, and parents alike.
On the fair’s final day, visitors thronged the e-Pustakalaya stall to explore the app’s rich collection of free digital books, offering a vast repository of literary resources.
The app aims to become a valuable resource, especially for Meghalaya’s rural and semi-urban areas where physical libraries are non-existent. With free access to a wide variety of books in multiple languages, the app seeks to democratise literary access across the country.
