Activist seeks prompt release of students scholarships

TURA, Oct 15: Social activist from South Garo Hills Greneth M Sangma has sought the immediate release of pending scholarships for eligible students.
In his appeal addressed to the Education Minister, Greneth raised concern over the delayed scholarship payment which he said is affecting students all across the state.
According to Greneth, while some students have already received the scholarships, many others including new applicants are still awaiting payment.
Greneth in his appeal sought the immediate release of the scholarship for all eligible students, transparency and timely disbursement of the same, clear communication regarding payment status and expected timelines, the streamlining of the whole application and disbursement process as well as the setting up of a dedicated grievances redressal mechanism.
