Combine XI defeat Mawlaiteng

SHILLONG: In the lone match of the day, Combine XI defeated Mawlaiteng SS&CC 2-0 in the Meghalaya Open Football Championship, organised by the Bouncers Association of Meghalaya in collaboration with the Meghalaya AIDS Control Society, at Malki Ground on Monday.

More than an hour’s play went by before the first goal was scored by Henry Marboh in the 63rd minute.

Chesterfield Nongdhar then added the second two minutes later for Combine XI.

The second round of matches will begin on Tuesday with Iaineh FC (Mawlai) taking on Seng Samla Khliehshnong (Malki) at 12 noon.

Diengpasoh FC will then face Na Mynsiem (Nongkrem) at 2:00pm.
