Cleaning drive
The Executive Committee Dorbar Shnong Nongkseh will hold an annual cleaning drive of the Lum Jingtep Shnong (locality graveyard) at Nongkseh Rim Block-1, Nongkseh Block-3, and Nongkseh (Pyrda) Block-9 from 8 am on December 8. In a statement here on Monday, Nongkseh Dorbar Shnong general secretary, Malcolm R Thangkhiew, urged the residents to actively participate in the cleaning drive. A contribution of Rs 100 will be collected from the locality for the services of the garbage truck and to meet other expenditures.

Unclaimed body
An unidentified male, apparently a non-tribal, was found lying in an unconscious state near the footbridge at Dhankheti, Shillong, on October 24. He was shifted to Civil Hospital, Shillong. The hospital, on November 2, declared that the person had expired. Accordingly, necessary formalities were observed and the cadaver has been kept at the hospital morgue for identification and claim. The deceased was around 50 years of age, swarthy-complexioned, built thin and had a tattoo on his left arm. He was found wearing a polo-neck grey woolen sweater, and he also had an adult diaper on.
