Strong contingent to represent state at national karate championships

SHILLONG: Thirty karatekas from Meghalaya will take part in two separate national karate tournaments from Thursday onwards, a press release from the All Meghalaya Karate-Do Association said on Monday.
Seven karatekas, led by coach Linza F Syiem, will participate in the KAI Senior National Karate Championship in New Delhi from January 23-26.
Team: Ronald Lyngdoh Nonglait, Daebor M Kynta, Indra B Chetry, Banylla Shallam, Ester Mary Lyngdoh and Anidahun M Warjri.
For the JKAI National Karate Championship, which will be held in Mumbai from January 25-27, 23 junior karatekas have been selected to take part led by coach Arjun Sewa and manager GEM Kharpuri.
Team: Elisheba Khongwar, Lawanda Shisha Mutyent, Isadora A Lyngdoh, Stella Challam, Cicilia Marbaniang, Melaaihun Shisha Shongwan, Danibhalin Thangkhiew, Magdalyne Marbaniang, Gerald A Nongkhlaw, Wanrihtngen Sius Malngiang, Albert Jana, Iaburomlang Lyngdoh, Freddy B Syiem, Damangshwa Syiem, Josanki Rympei, Memon Bareh, Pynshngain Shangdiar, Ewillbert K Nongkynrih, Banrilang L Nonglait, Damewanrahboklang Chen, Arkinson Bhalang Mynsong, Mingson Rymbai and Pynhunlang Kharbuli.
