Three rape cases in 3 days

SHILLONG: Safety of women has been a growing concern in the state as three minor girls have been raped in the last three days. On January  19 around 10.30 pm, one Albert Nongrum (27) raped a minor girl (13) at Mawryngkneng (EKH). Police arrested the accused in this case. In another incident, one Ebor Suiam allegedly  raped her minor daughter (6) at Shangpung Moolibang (WJH) on January 18.A Police complaint in this regard was lodged by Sumarlangki Chullet at Jowai Police Station.  Apart from this one Niksang M. Sangma also allegedly raped his own minor sister (14) while she was proceeding from Siju to Tolegre village (SGH) on January 17. Police arrested all the accused.
