13 karatekas to represent M’laya at karate c’ship in Delhi

Shillong, Nov 18: Thirteen talented karatekas from the All Meghalaya Karate-Do Association (AMKA), led by coach Donboklang Lyngdoh, will represent the state at the prestigious 1st Federation Cup Premier League & Youth League Karate Championship 2024.
The event is set to take place at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi, from November 17 to 23, 2024.
The karatekas competing in various categories include Gideon Tympuin (Senior Male Kumite -55kg & Senior Male Kata), Gregorwilson Makdoh (Junior Male Kumite -61kg & Junior Male Kata), Ferdinand Samkupar Rani (Junior Male Kumite -55kg & Junior Male Kata), Kynpham Kharkongor (Senior Male Kumite -67kg), Davyson Kharkongor (Senior Male Kumite -50kg), Ram Lanong (Junior Male Kumite -55kg), Bapynshongdor Dkhar (Junior Male Kumite -61kg), Iwannaki L Khongji (Cadet Female Kumite -42kg), Cathy Sweety Nongrum (Senior Female Kumite -45kg), Barisha Kharbani (Senior Female Kumite -61kg), Sa-I Banmanbha S Blah (Junior Female Kumite -42kg), Nangkitbok Phira (Senior Male Kumite -55kg), and Damebanmerbha S Blah (Senior Male Kumite -50kg).
The participation marks a significant milestone for Meghalaya’s karate community, showcasing the state’s rising talent on a national platform. The All Meghalaya Karate-Do Association, recognized by the Government of Meghalaya, the State Sports Council, and the Meghalaya State Olympic Association, continues to support and develop martial arts in the region.
The association expressed gratitude to all supporters and urged local enthusiasts to cheer for the state representatives as they compete in this high-profile championship.
