Shillong, Nov 26: Meghalaya is all set to showcase its table tennis prowess in the 3rd North East Circle Masters Table Tennis Championships, scheduled to take place in Kohima, Nagaland, from November 28 to 30, 2024.
This prestigious tournament will see the region’s top players from various states competing across multiple age categories, making it a vibrant platform for the sport’s veterans.
A team of eight experienced players will represent Meghalaya in the tournament, competing in the 40-plus, 50-plus, and 60-plus age brackets. The team comprises Santanu Ghosh, A G West, R B Das, Joel Roy Nongbri, B Dasgupta, Suraj Joshi, S Pyngrope, and H Singha, all of whom have shown consistent performances in the sport over the years.
The team is scheduled to depart from Shillong on November 27, carrying the hopes of the state with them. The North East Circle Masters Championships provide a platform for veteran players to compete and rekindle their passion for table tennis.
This year’s event is expected to see participation from all the northeastern states, adding to the competitive spirit and camaraderie among players.The Meghalaya contingent has been preparing diligently for the championship, focusing on skill enhancement and fitness to face the challenges ahead.
