Youth leadership training camp in West Jaintia Hills

JOWAI, Dec 7: The Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides (MBS&G) West Jaintia Hills on Friday kicked off its 8th Winter Annual Camp & Youth Leadership Training 2024 at Achiever’s Secondary School, Ummulong. The five-day camp drew enthusiastic participation from students of various schools and colleges affiliated with Scouts-Guides and Rovers-Rangers.
MBS&G vice president S Tariang, District School Education Officer (DSEO) D Syngkon, Joint State Secretary of MBS&G Ohiwot Laloo and Joint State Secretary of MBS&G Trippleson Muksor attended the camp.
Speaking at the inaugural day of the camp, MBS&G Joint State Secretary Laloo highlighted the camp’s 30-year history, emphasising its role in fostering leadership and instilling Scouts-Guides values. Meanwhile, DSEO Syngkon praised the district association’s community welfare efforts, urging participants to uphold good manners and share their knowledge.
A special ceremony honoured winners of the Rajya Puraskar Award 2024 with certificates. District Organiser for Guides, Dolly Lamare, expressed gratitude, concluding the event.
