Namdong residents rally behind Waheh Shnong

JOWAI, Dec 19: Residents of Namdong gathered at the Dorbar Hall in Namdong-B on Thursday to express unified support for Damian S War, the current Waheh Shnong of Namdong-B and president of the FKJGP, West Jaintia Hills.
War is set to contest the upcoming ADC election in 2025 under Mynsngat Khanduli Constituency for the JHADC.
The meeting on Thursday was attended by several prominent figures, including current MDC Dawan Lyngdoh, Waheh Raij of Namdong Lambor Lyngdoh, and local leaders from neighbouring villages, such as Waheh Shnong of Lumrot Nobel Ryngkhlem and Assistant Waheh Shnong of Madanratiang Chalbi Siangshai. Residents from surrounding villages also participated, showcasing broad community support for War’s candidacy.
The programme, organised by chairman of Raij Namdong, Linus Pale, featured speeches from key community leaders.
Urging the community to elect a capable and committed leader, current MDC Dawan Lyngdoh said War possesses the qualities needed to guide the region effectively.
He expressed confidence in War’s ability to uphold leadership responsibilities and foster development within the JHADC.
Meanwhile, in his address, War announced his decision to contest the election, citing his desire to serve the community.
He pledged to prioritise environmental conservation and the sustainable use of local natural resources while focusing on the welfare and progress of the region.
War also called on voters to have faith in him, assuring that his leadership would bring positive change and development to the area.
