1st div cricket: Langsning SC tames Pinewood

SHILLONG: Langsning SC defeated Pinewood by six wickets in a league match of the SCA First Division Cricket League at the Cricket Ground, Polo here on Friday.

After winning the toss, Langsning SC put Pinewood into bat restricting them to a modest 119 runs in 25 overs. Khraw Kupar Syntiew was the pick of the bowlers claiming four wickets of six overs giving away 21 runs. Pritam scored 19 runs of 14 balls for Pinewood.

In reply, Langsning reached the target in 21.5 overs losing only four wickets. Javed Jyrwa scored 38 runs of 24 balls. While Krishna grabbed 2 wickets for 33 runs of 4.5 overs.

NFU will take on Aurobindo in the next Super Division match on Saturday.

Meanwhile, TnT Sputnik is at the top of the standings in group A of the Super Division league while NFU has to beat Aurobindo by a big margin to surpass Lawmali’s CC net run rate to take the second spot. At present, Lawmali hold the second position.

While in group B, United XI is at the top, Malki CC hold the second spot with a better run rate than Nongthymmai SCC.

In the First Division league, Lumdiengjri SCC and Keating Road CC are on top of the respective groups.
