RESUBELPARA, Jan 4: A quarrel between a husband and wife over an alleged affair turned ugly after the former assaulted the latter before fleeing the scene near Dagal village under Mendipathar Police Station in North Garo Hills (NGH).
The incident, as per reports, took place on December 29, 2024, though the matter was only reported the next day by members of the family. The victim, who sustained some injuries, was treated at the local PHC before being released the same day.
An FIR has been registered against the absconding husband, Tunin Momin, with police being on the lookout to bring the culprit to book.
“An altercation took place over an alleged affair after which the wife was apparently assaulted by the husband. She is currently out of danger and a case has been registered against him. We are hopeful of a breakthrough soon,” informed district police chief, Swapnil Pawar.
