Condolence
The Assam Club of Laban has condoled the demise of Jnanada Kakoti (Biadew), noted Assamese actor and singer, who passed away on Wednesday. In a condolence meeting, held on the Club premises on Saturday, several speakers highlighted Kakoti’s contribution to Assamese cinema and music. Speaking on her attachment with the Assam Club, one of the speakers at the meet recalled that Kakoti had once said that Assam Club is her second mother. She was associated with Assam Club culturally since her childhood. A one-minute silence was observed for the eternal peace of the departed soul at the meeting, and it was decided that a portrait of Kakoti would be put up in the Club.
