NONGSTOIN: Following up on the arrest of two Achik National Liberation Central Army (ANLCA) cadres from Mawiaban, Nongstoin on Sunday last, West Khasi Hills Police on Tuesday arrested three more ANLCA cadres – Twillson D Shira, Latu D Shira and Rikchi D Shira, while another cadre managed to escape.
Speaking to pressmen here on Tuesday, West Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Sylvester Nongtnger informed that the cadres were arrested from Dalbot A Village.
He also informed that during the melee a fourth cadre – Charles D Shira of Dalbot Village – escaped from police custody.
A massive operation has been launched to re-arrest the cadre.
Nongtnger also informed that the arrests were made from an ANLCA camp located about 7 km from Dalbot village at around 10 am.
West Khasi Police had, earlier, arrested two ANLCA cadres from Mawiaban under Nongstoin police station on Sunday morning.
