SHILLONG, Jan 15: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) will convene on January 21 to deliberate on the reports of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) for the financial years 2017-2018 and 2018-2019.
In a notice issued on Wednesday, the PAC Member Secretary informed the Council members that the meeting will take place in the Executive Committee’s conference room to study and examine the audit observations detailed in the reports.
KHADC Opposition Leader and PAC Chairman Titosstarwell Chyne refrained from making any detailed comments ahead of the meeting.
“Let the committee meet first. I will share our recommendations once we thoroughly study the CAG report,” Chyne said.
Earlier, former Deputy Chief Executive Member (CEM) and PAC member, Pynshngain N. Syiem, emphasised the need for the PAC to convene promptly to determine necessary actions based on the CAG’s recommendations and observations.
He also reminded that the PAC was constituted following the CAG’s recommendations.
