Govt to dispose of seized drugs worth more than Rs 50 cr today

SHILLONG, Jan 22: The Meghalaya government will dispose of seized drugs worth over Rs 50 crore on Thursday. Chief Minister Conrad Sangma will be the chief guest at the disposal programme, scheduled to take place at Star Cement in Lumshnong, East Jaintia Hills.
The programme will see the destruction of 2.997 kg of heroin and around 2,561 kg of ganja, valued at Rs 53.86 crore, underscoring the government’s efforts to combat drug trafficking and abuse in the state.
