SHILLONG, Jan 22: A Sector Commander-level coordination meeting between the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) was held near the Indo-Bangladesh at the 193rd BSF Battalion’s location on Wednesday.
The meeting aimed to strengthen bilateral relations, improve coordination, and address various border-related issues.
The BSF delegation was led by Manoj Kumar Barnwal, DIG, Sector HQ BSF Shillong, while Md. Saiful Islam Chowdhury, Deputy Director General and Sector Commander of BGB Sylhet, Bangladesh, headed the BGB delegation.
During the meeting, the commanders discussed several key issues, including the Coordinated Border Management Plan and other matters of mutual interest.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the productive and cordial discussions, which underscored the friendly bilateral relationship between the two countries. The commanders reaffirmed their commitment to fostering a secure and peaceful border environment while acknowledging the efforts of their respective forces in maintaining tranquility in the region.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties agreeing to hold regular coordination meetings in the future to ensure continued cooperation and the smooth functioning of border management operations.
