SHILLONG, Feb 2: The Meghalaya BJP is optimistic about gaining strong public support in the upcoming KHADC and JHADC elections, asserting that people have now begun to recognize the party as the only force capable of driving grassroots economic development.
BJP’s chief spokesperson, Mariahom Kharkrang highlighted the party’s growing acceptance among voters in Meghalaya, stating that preparations for the February 21 elections are progressing smoothly.
He emphasized that BJP’s core focus is economic growth and development, ensuring that every section of society benefits from progress.
According to Kharkrang, the party has worked consistently to break misconceptions and engage directly with the public to highlight its policies and initiatives.
In an effort to reach out to the masses, BJP’s Mandal committees across Meghalaya are actively mobilising support and conducting awareness campaigns.
Kharkrang noted that these grassroots level efforts are crucial in dispelling myths about the party’s ideology.
“All our Mandals are going all out to make people understand that BJP is not a party of any particular religion but one that prioritises development,” he added.
Kharkrang reiterated that BJP’s development model is designed to benefit all communities, irrespective of religion, caste, or background.
The BJP has often faced scepticism in Meghalaya due to perceptions that it primarily represents the interests of a specific religious group. However, party leaders have continuously worked to counter this narrative by stressing their commitment to inclusive governance.
