SHILLONG, Feb 11: Congress MP from Tura, Saleng A Sangma on Tuesday urged the Centre to immediately relocate as many as 82 households who have been kept out of Meghalaya due to the border fencing work undertaken by the government.
“I would like to apprise the House that people in the border area are living in agony and fear. Those who live along the international border are fenced out but they are our citizens. If there is no relocation for them, then they can’t even enter India after 5 pm for medical emergencies,” Sangma said in the Lok Sabha.
“I urge that they should be relocated on an urgent basis,” he added.
