Cops arrest four over extortion activities

Tura, Feb 14: West Garo Hills police nabbed four persons when they were allegedly trying to extort money from business establishments here on Friday. The apprehended individuals claimed to be members of a civil society organisation from Tura. They have been identified as Baithy BN Sangma, Tengkim S Marak, Mathias T Sangma and Tangkan Ch Sangma. ‘They were caught red-handed while trying to collect money from shops of the Nakham Bazar locality’, the police said.
