New Delhi, Feb 16: Former Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke has tipped India to defeat Australia in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is set to conclude on March 9.
Clarke, who was part of Australia’s victorious 2006 Champions Trophy squad under Ricky Ponting, believes the tournament could witness a rematch of the 2023 ODI World Cup final.
However, this time, he expects India to come out on top against the six-time ODI World Cup winners. Speaking on the Beyond23 Cricket Podcast, Clarke expressed his hopes for an India-Australia showdown.
“My fingers are crossed for Australia, so I’m going to say they’ll be in the final, and I think they’ll face India—just like the 2023 ODI World Cup final,” he said. However, the former skipper went on to back India for the title. (Agencies)
