Kolkata: PTI photographer Swapan Mahapatra was injured when a firecracker hit him during the 118th IFA Shield final between Mohammedan Sporting and Sheikh Jamal Dhamnodi here on Saturday.
According to a fellow photojournalist who spoke to the doctors, a splinter penetrated his lungs and liver and the photographer has been put under observation.
An equaliser by Mohammedan was celebrated by their fans with fireworks in the stands, one of which hit Mahapatra, who was near the field taking photos of the match. (PTI)
