SHILLONG, Feb 14: A scuffle was reported in Mawlai between supporters of VPP candidate, Eddieson Kharumnuid and former MDC and independent candidate, Teibor Pathaw on Monday evening.
When contacted, East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem said a team from Mawlai PS police and SOT personnel immediately rushed to the area and took control of the situation.
In another incident, the house of a former headman of Narwan village in East Jaintia Hills was attacked allegedly by VPP supporters.
Police said a mob armed with sticks and stones attacked the house at around 8 pm. Police have been deployed in the area.
