Arunachal Statehood Day preparations on full swing

Itanagar:  The preparation for the Statehood Day Celebration 2014-cum- Festival of Arunachal Pradesh is going at full pace. The grand three-day celebration will be inaugurated by the Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Nirbhay Sharma as chief guest on Thursday morning.
The Chief Minister Nabam Tuki along with a host of his cabinet colleagues, MLAs and high ranking government officials will be present on the occasion.
The Capital Administration is making every effort to make it a grand success. Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, who visited the park last evening along with a host of dignitaries and inspected the ongoing preparations.
Organizing Chairman, Dani Sulu and the Deputy Commissioner Itanagar Capital Complex Mige Kamki briefed the Chief Minister and his team about the preparation.
He informed that cultural troupes from the six northeastern states – Meghalaya, Manipur, Assam, Tripura, Sikkim as-well-as the host state will be participating in the event, which will help generate a Pan East feeling.
The prices of the food stalls have also been regulated and the prices would be displayed on the flags at the venue, Salu further informed. The exhibition stalls and food stalls have already been constructed and allocated to the applicants who have already started moving in.
A Khampti traditional hut constructed at the venue has been designated as the VIP Lounge. Legendary artistes from the state would be performing during the festival. Popular rock bands from the North East like Lou Majaw, Luit Tides, Taka Trio, and the Arunachal Fusion Band would be performing on the concluding day.
Fashion show by renowned designers from Arunachal is also scheduled for February 20 and 21 which will also help provide a platform to the upcoming models of the state as all the participating models are from the state.
An international trade fair is also set up alongside the venue at the Park as a major attraction. (UNI)
