Holiday
The Governor of Meghalaya has declared February 24 as a general holiday in the whole of East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, South West Khasi Hills. Ri Bhoi, West Jaintia Hills and East Jaintia Hills on account of the general elections of the two autonomous District Councils in the state.
NSS festival
NSS Volunteers from Meghalaya participated at the 4th North East NSS Festival held at Agartala from February 12-16. Altogether seven North Eastern state participated at the festival.

Unclaimed body
One highly decomposed body of a male which was recovered from Shillong Bypass area is kept at the Civil Hospital morgue and all are requested to contact police in the event of identifying the deceased.
