SHILLONG: The Dorbar Shnong of Lumparing and the KSU Raid Laban Circle has warned the Lumparing Welfare Society to stop issuing income proof certficate to non-tribals prior the notice of the Dorbar Shnong.

This comes after the Society recently issued the certificate to a non-tribal Amar Routh.

The matter came to light after five days of issuing the certificate after which the secretary of the Lumparing Welfare Society, NC Das was summoned before Dorbar Shnong at the Dorbar Hall, Lumparing here on Wednesday.

It may be noted that Amar Routh obtained the certificate from the Village Council Dorbar to acquire loan from Mahindra Finance (Non Banking Finance Corporation) signed by the Secretary of the Lumparing Welfare Society. However, the Dorbar Shnong was not informed about this.

The Rangbah Shnong of Upper Lumparing has asked the secretary to stop issuing such certificates to non-tribals and at the same time respect the conditions laid by the Dorbar Shnong as such a matter is usually taken up by the Dorbar Shnong and not other organisations.
