Organised by the State Council of Science, Technology & Environment (SCSTE), Meghalaya, the event aims to promote scientific awareness and innovation across the state.
The Digital Planetarium, a key highlight of the event, reflects the government’s commitment to advancing science and technology in the region.
The two-day celebration will also honour meritorious students who secured top marks in Mathematics and Science in the Class X and XII MBOSE Examinations 2023-24.
As part of the initiative, a STEM Lab will be launched to foster creativity and innovation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
Additionally, Science on Wheels will be introduced to bring scientific knowledge to remote areas. Another significant milestone will be the release of Chess Pa translated books in Khasi and Garo, aimed at encouraging critical thinking through chess. The event will feature state-level competitions, where district-level winners will compete in quiz contests, painting, videography, short reels, model exhibitions, and engineering projects, showcasing the talents of young innovators from across Meghalaya.
Visitors can also engage in interactive science exhibits, hands-on experiments, popular science talks and night sky observation sessions.
The celebration will conclude with a prize distribution ceremony and a live performance by the Rhythm School of Music.
