Aibor, Rocus in India squad for Bangla game

SHILLONG: Meghalaya’s Aiborlang Khongjee and Rocus Lamare have both been picked by national football coach Wim Koevermans in his 20-man squad for an international friendly against Bangladesh, which will be held in Goa on March 5.

Most of the squad will assemble in Goa on March 1, although Khongjee and some others will join the team a day later due to their I-League commitments.

The squad is made up of players from nine different I-League clubs, along with goalkeeper Subrata Paul, who is now playing for Danish side FC Vestsjaelland.

No players have been picked from Shillong Lajong or Rangdajied United.

Squad – Karanjit Singh (Salgaocar), Amrinder Singh (Pune), Subrata Paul (Vestsjaelland), Denzil Franco (Churchill), Arnab Mondal (East Bengal), Aiborlang Khongjee (Mohun Bagan), Sandesh Jhingan (Mumbai), Gurjinder Kumar (Pune), Narayan Das (Dempo), Mehtab Hossain, Lalrindika Ralte (both EB), Lenny Rodrigues (Churchill), Rocus Lamare (Salgaocar), Alwyn George, Clifford Miranda (both Dempo), Francis Fernandes (Salgaocar), Victorino Fernandes (Sporting Clube), Sunil Chhetri, Robin Singh (both Bengaluru) and Balwant Singh (Churchill).
