Shillong, May 5: The Meghalaya Cricket Association family was thrilled with the results of the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate examinations 2025, conducted by the Meghalaya Board of School Education, as the state U-19 men’s team captain Dipankar Barua secured third place in the Commerce stream. The results were announced by MBoSE on Monday. Dipankar, a student of Laban Bengalee Boys’ Higher Secondary School in Shillong, secured 468 marks.
On behalf of the association, MCA President Nababrata Bhattacharjee congratulated the wicketkeeper-batsman on his academic achievement.
“I’ve seen Dipankar playing cricket from an early age and he showed his potential in our academy initially and later on his own hard work and sincerity took him forwards,” Bhattacharjee said.
Dipankar first represented the state at the U-16 level before progressing to the U-19 side, which he captained in the 2024-25 season.
“His commitment, application and discipline were evident at a young age. It is not surprising that he excels both in cricket and studies and I’m confident he will continue to succeed and attain glory in both disciplines,” Bhattacharjee added. “It is a matter of managing time and giving equal importance to both. My congratulations to Dipankar for securing the third position in the HSSLC exam and best wishes for the future.”
