SHILLONG, May 29: Madhya Pradesh Lok Sabha member Shankar Lalwani and Rajya Sabha member Sumer Singh Solanki, who are here to oversee the search operation for the missing couple from Indore, have expressed satisfaction with the ongoing search operation.
They met Chief Secretary DP Wahlang, DIG (Eastern Range) Davis R Marak and the East Khasi Hills SP on Thursday to seek updates on the search efforts.
The Chief Secretary told them that all possible measures are being taken to trace the couple. Lalwani praised the commitment of the local administration and the police personnel involved in the operation.
The two MPs urged the government to intensify the search. “We are hopeful that the couple will be found soon,” Lalwani said.
Lalwani, who reached Shillong on Tuesday, disclosed that they had met with DGP Idashisha Nongrang on Wednesday, accompanied by the family members.
He stated that the family was able to raise all their concerns and questions directly with the DGP.
The Lok Sabha MP from Indore added that the DGP assured them of continued efforts to locate the missing couple.
“We were briefed on all aspects of the operation,” he said, adding that they were also informed about plans to deploy additional police personnel for the search starting Friday.
