TURA: Motorcycle borne youth opened fire on a petrol pump in Mendipather town of North Garo Hills district injuring an employee on Wednesday afternoon.
Three men came up to the petrol station on a motorcycle and demanded money at gunpoint. On failing to receive any cash they opened fire from a 7.65 pistol hitting pump employee Umesh Nath in the stomach.
The militants who were claiming themselves to be members of the Norrok X Momin-led UALA outfit fled on their two wheeler after the firing incident.
