NEW DELHI: Union minister Manish Tewari was on Saturday admitted to a south Delhi hospital for treatment of a heart ailment, sources close to him said.

Tewari (48) has not been keeping well for the past several days and had earlier gone to AIIMS for treatment, the source said, adding, “He had come to Max Hospital in south Delhi today where he has been admitted.”

His hospitalization could not have come at a more inopportune time for Congress as the sitting MP from Ludhiana in Punjab is a vocal leader and a good orator besides being a senior party spokesman.

The information and broadcasting minister had recently trashed reports that he was keen on changing his constituency, saying he was prepared to fight from Ludhiana if his party decided to field him. (PTI)
