Kidnapped man rescued

SHILLONG: In a major breakthrough, the East Khasi Hills police on Wednesday rescued one Digbijoy Das, a resident of Shillong, who was kidnapped from city on February 4. Das was rescued from Gaspara Simola, Amsui under Nagaon district from a secluded hut. The five abductors were also arrested. “Four of those arrested were from Nagaon while one person was well acquainted with the insurance agent who was arrested from a small village in an operation early today,” the district SP M Kharkrang told reporters.
