M’laya celebrates National Javelin Day

Shillong, Aug 7: To mark the occasion of National Javelin Day, the affiliated units of the Meghalaya Athletics Association (MAA) came together on Wednesday to commemorate India’s historic moment at the Tokyo Olympics.
The event was organised across multiple districts including West Jaintia Hills, Ri-Bhoi, and East Khasi Hills, where the 4th National Javelin Day was observed with enthusiasm and participation from young athletes.
The day serves as a tribute to Neeraj Chopra’s golden triumph in the men’s javelin throw at the 2021 Olympics — a milestone that placed India on the global athletics map.MAA Secretary Finely Pariat thanked all district units and participants for making the event a meaningful.
