Government school bombed in NW Pakistan

PESHAWAR, Aug 10: Militants blew up a government high school in South Waziristan’s Karabagh area on Sunday, severely damaging classrooms and the boundary wall.
No casualties were reported. The attack, amid rising unrest in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, has disrupted education and instilled fear among locals.
Militants also recently destroyed three bridges on the Wana-Azam Warsak highway, worsening public hardship. Similar attacks have targeted schools, particularly girls’ institutions, with over 450 destroyed in the past decade
The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and its splinter groups oppose girls’ education. Locals demand stronger security and urgent government action to protect educational infrastructure. (PTI)
