JOWAI, Aug 13: The Office of the Senior Medical & Health Officer, Jarain PHC, in collaboration with local health teams and community leaders, organised a vibrant ‘Family Planning Awareness Programme’ on Wednesday at the Mupyut Village Community Hall, West Jaintia Hills. The event combined educational health sessions with engaging cultural performances, fostering both learning and community spirit.
The programme began with a warm welcome speech by Mupyut headman Sikil Chyrmang, followed by an introduction from Adolescent Counselor Dr. J. Rymbai, who highlighted the importance of family planning in improving maternal health, child well-being and community development.
Each presentation was interspersed with short plays performed by the Mupyut Team, using drama to illustrate practical aspects of family planning and healthy living.
