SHILLONG: The State Unit of BJP has demanded provincialization of teaching services in the State.

The BJP state unit felt that the teaching community in the State of Meghalaya was divided under the existing education policy of the State Government. In Meghalaya teachers have been categorized into deficit, adhoc, planned, unplanned and private categories.

The party is of the view that teachers are discriminated due the policies of the Government and they have demanded equal pay for equal work to bring all categories of teachers on an equal footstep.

The party also expressed its concern since the State Government has not invited the teachers for talks on the issue of provincialization of services of teachers in the State.

BJP leaders believe that the teaching community would be benefitted largely if the Meghalaya Government implements the much demanded provincialization of services of teachers.
