Shillong set for Inter School Basketball Tournament 2025

Shillong, Sep 4: The much-anticipated Shillong Inter School Basketball Tournament 2025 will tip off on Saturday, September 6, at Pearly Dew Higher Secondary School, Jaiaw Laitdom, with the opening game scheduled for 8 AM.
Organised by Dubakh Sports Pvt. Ltd. with support from Meghalaya Tourism, the tournament is expected to showcase the best of young basketball talent from across the city and provide a platform to strengthen the grassroots game in the region.
Eight schools will be vying for top honours, with the teams divided into two groups. Group A comprises Mizo Modern H.S.S, St Edmunds ISC, Mawkhar Christian, and Jaiaw Presbyterian, while Group B features Pearly Dew H.S.S, Dinet Manik Memorial, Little Flower H.S.S, and Shillong Public School.The organisers expressed confidence after the managers’ meeting, noting that the event would not only deliver high-intensity matchups but also help build a stronger culture of basketball in Shillong by allowing schoolchildren to compete in a professional environment.The opening day of the tournament promises a packed schedule, beginning with Mizo Modern H.S.S taking on Mawkhar Christian at 8 AM, followed by St Edmunds ISC facing Jaiaw Presbyterian at 9 AM.
The action will continue at 10 AM when Pearly Dew meets Shillong Public School, before Dinet Manik Memorial clash with Little Flower H.S.S at 11 AM.
The day’s final encounter will see Mizo Modern H.S.S return to court against St Edmunds ISC at 1 PM.
With five games on the opening day alone, the tournament is set for an exciting start. Families, students, and sports enthusiasts are expected to turn out in large numbers to support their teams and add to the competitive atmosphere. As Shillong prepares for a spirited weekend of basketball, the tournament is poised to not only crown a champion but also nurture the next generation of basketball talent from Meghalaya.
