Chettri’s whirlwind fifty does it for Tornado in 2nd Div cricket

SHILLONG: Tornado and Matrisangha easily dealt with their respective opponents in Sunday’s matches of the SCA Second Division Cricket League at the Cricket Ground, Polo.
Nongmynsong lost by 41 runs after putting their opponents in to bat first.
A half-century by Pawan Chettri (55 from 59 deliveries) saw Tornado post 141/4 in 20 overs. Md Azim bagged 2-19 in four overs.
In reply, Nongmynsong managed just 100 runs in their 20 overs after losing nine wickets in the process. Joy took 3-22 in four overs.
In the second match of the day, Matrisangha were six-wicket winners over Rilbong.
After being put in to bat, Rilbong were all out for 92 in 18.2 overs, with Arpan top-scoring with 29 runs. Nobojyoti claimed 3-20 in four overs.
Matrisangha then had few problems in the chase, reaching the target for the loss of four wickets in 15.3 overs.
Shubham made 32 from 25 balls, while Ashish took 2-22 in three overs.
