JERUSALEM, Sep 14: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived in Israel as Israeli strikes escalated in northern Gaza, killing at least 13 Palestinians and flattening a residential tower.
Rubio seeks answers on Gaza’s future following Israel’s controversial strike on Hamas leaders in Qatar, which disrupted ceasefire efforts.
His visit shows support for Israel ahead of a tense UN debate on Palestinian statehood.
Despite Trump’s anger over the uncoordinated Qatar strike, Rubio also met Qatar’s PM.
Gaza’s war toll continues to rise, with over 64,800 Palestinians killed and severe malnutrition deaths increasing, especially among children. (AP)
