Taxation dept introduces e-Refund system

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Additional Chief Secretary, BK Dev Varma recently launched the e-Refund system -an online service which is being introduced by the Taxation Department to enable the registered dealers to apply for refund from their residences or offices.
The online application for e-Refund is available on portal of the state government (http://meghalayaonline.gov.in) and portal of the Taxation Department (http://megvat.gov.in) where the dealers can login and claim their refund following necessary instructions.
The system aims to provide service delivery at the doorstep or location of dealers’ convenience, reduce the requirement of physical interaction with the departmental officers, availability of electronic service at a very cheap rate. The objective is to replace the manual process to apply for refund by an electronic online system.
